CBO needs to go to Afghanistan Poliquicks
A recent Congressional Budget Office ( CBO) report,” Military Members Better Compensated Than Feds,” by Stephen Losey, said that enlisted military members and officers’ annual cash compensation far outpaces federal civilian employees’ compensation and the gap widens as the years go by.
According to the CBO, median compensation for first-year enlisted service members — including tax-free housing and food allowances — is about $40,000.
The median compensation for a first-year fed with comparable education and work experience — including overtime pay, but excluding cash performance awards — is slightly more than $30,000.
Of course Mr. Losey had no consideration of combat duty in OIF or OEF, no comparison to the field living conditions, nothing on long deployments and hardships on families left at home.
Another point not made is federal employees as a whole out strip their civilian counterparts ref pay/allowances.
Maybe this is what you call playing Losey-goosey with the truths?
